The PEG training program is aimed at people working in health care. Entry criteria is listed below. 

 

Course is delivered by G.P. To perform these procedures well and to a safe standard it requires staff to have ongoing practical training to be competent in these areas. 

The course requires pre-learning which you receive by email.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy 

Entry criteria:  Family / Care giver, Nurse, Doctor or Paramedic,  (Students of same can attend) or practitioners awaiting registration. If unsure please give us a call.

NMBI Award: Certificate in PEG Management 

Course Cost: 150€

Course Content:

  • Introduction

  • Anatomy & Physiology 

  • Communication Skills, informing & gaining consent

  • Infection Control  

  • Overview of the FreeGo Pump & Flocare Infinity II pump

  • Learning the different associated types of gastrostomy tubes

  • Understanding of the care management of gastrostomy tubes

  • Learn how and when to replace gastrostomy tubes

  • Learn how to check and reposition gastrostomy tubes

  • Complications 

  • Open Discussions

  • Close
