A: Yes, our CPAP and BiPAP course is open to family members. We cover equipment, routine care, common problems, and when to seek help.
Q: What will I learn on the CPAP and BiPAP training course?
A: You’ll learn respiratory assessment, oxygenation and ventilation, CPAP and BiPAP principles, IPAP and EPAP, indications and precautions, equipment setup, monitoring, alarms, troubleshooting, cleaning, and when escalation is necessary.
Q: What is the difference between CPAP and BiPAP?
A: CPAP provides a continuous pressure to help keep the airway open. BiPAP provides two pressures, higher on inspiration and lower on expiration.
Q: Is practical CPAP and BiPAP training included?
A: Yes, you’ll get hands-on demonstrations with machines, masks, tubing, humidification, leak checks, and pre use safety checks.
Q: Does the course cover COPD and BiPAP?
A: Yes; BiPAP in appropriate COPD cases is discussed, including the difference between oxygen and ventilation.
Q: What machine do you use for training?
A: We use the latest Resmed Aircurve 11. The machine machine will teach both CPAP & BiPAP with IPAP & EPAP
Q: Will this course teach me to change CPAP or BiPAP pressures?
A: We explain what the settings mean, but prescribed pressures should only be changed by authorized clinicians which we cover in detail.
